Tidak dapat dibayangkan kerugian yang terjadi jika plant mengalami shutdown akibat belt conveyor rusak atau putus. Untuk itu penting sekali menjaga agar belt conveyor tetap dalam kondisi baik. Belt conveyor seringkali memberikan nilai ekonomis dan kepuasan sebagai metoda transportasi material seperti: material tambang, tanah, pasir, batu pecah, semen, beton segar, dan material lain dalam dunia industri. Semakin cepat dan menerus operasinya semakin besar kapasitas transportasi material.
