Menjadi seorang pengemudi/ driver/ sopir terkadang dianggap sebagai pekerjaan yang biasa saja, namun pada kenyataannya keberadaan seorang supir di sebuah perusahaan dan lembaga menjadi bagian penting dalam
alur operasional. Bagi sebuah lembaga atau perusahaan besar proses recruitmen seorang supir dilakukan dengan selektif lantaran harus memperhatikan beberapa unsur penting seperti skill supir dalam mengemudi. Ketrampilan supir dalam mengemudi ini terkait dengan keamanan saat mengemudi, selain itu juga etika supir dalam mengemudi yang kaitannya dengan kenyamanan para pengguna jasanya.
Dilatar belakangi oleh hal-hal tersebut diatas maka diperlukan adanya suatu pelatihan khusus bagi para supir pribadi, perusahaan maupun instansi yang dapat memberikan pengetahuan dan pelatihan akan fungsi,
tanggung jawab, etika, etiket dan kesadaran terhadap profesi yang dijalankannya, sehingga menghasilkan pengemudi yang handal, profesional dan beretika.
